CHICKPEAS (KABULI CHANA)

Chickpeas are one of the  variety of Gram cultivated  and consumed specially in northern part of India.It is known as  Kabuli Chana and nick name is Chola.

Nutrition Supplement

Chickpeas are full of protein, fibre, minerals and vitamins. Iron , phosphate,magnesium,manganese,zinc,and vitamin K . It helps in maintaining bone structure .

The high fiber content , potassium , Vitamin C and Vitamin B-6 lower the cholesterol  level in the blood. Selenium found in chickpeas prevent  inflammation and reduces tumour growth. Folate  presence prevents cancer cell from mutation in the DNA

Cancer Prevention

Saponins found in chickpeas prevent cancer cells from multiplying and spreading.

 Lowers Cholesterol

It lowers low density lipoprotein cholesterol in the blood. Choline  present in chickpeas helps in sleep, musles movement, learning and memory . Due to high fibre content prevent constipation and improve digestion.

                                  

Dry Chickpeas should  be washed and soaked in  water for at least 8 hour before it cooking to obtain optimum flavor and texture.

 

It can be eat with salad and make curry with spices.
